Lazio enquire about Eintracht’s Mijat Gaćinović

Sergej Milinković-Savić continues to be the central hub of Lazio’s transfer market. In the case of the midfielder’s departure – for a cash sum not too far away from €100 million – the Biancocelesti would have the opportunity to reinforce and improve various departments of the club.

Starting with a direct replacement for the Serbian, the first name on Sporting Director Igli Tare’s list, is that of Yusuf Yazici. Belonging to Turkish side Trabzonspor, he has captured the eyes of many clubs worldwide over the past few seasons and at just 22 years of age, has a load of potential similar to Sergej. In addition, according to the editorial staff of La Lazio Siamo Noi, Mijat Gaćinović has been enquired about. Born in 1995, the player primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, however, he is also capable of playing as a central midfielder or a left/right midfielder. The same nationality as Sergej, the player is owned by Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt – a side who was in the same group as Lazio in last year’s UEFA Europa League.

As it stands, the 24 year-old has a contract until 2022 with the German side and he is happy to remain at the club. For this reason, a generous contract (and salary) would have to be offered to the club (and the player) if any deal is to transpire. For now, however, it is a waiting game for Lazio as they count down the days until the end of the transfer window.
