Claudio Lotito, Lazio president, gave an update on the potential transfer of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic yesterday. The Serbian midfielder was closely linked with a move to Manchester United last week but the track has seemingly cooled off since.
“If I hope that the offer for Milinkovic-Savic does not arrive? I do not need to hope for anything, we have not really posed the issue. We have already bought several players and luckily we do not have to sell before we buy more on the market.”
This suggests that a move is growing more unlikely and that the Serbian could end up staying in Rome come the start of the new season.
