As the transfer window approaches its end in some countries, with the Premier League window slamming shut on the 8th of August, things are starting to heat up. However, in the case of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who looked almost certain to be leaving Lazio this summer, things seem to be calming down.
Milinkovic-Savic has been heavily linked with moves to Juventus, PSG and Manchester United this summer, in that order, but, as of yet, no club has met the Biancocelesti’s valuation of the midfielder and he could remain in the Italian capital after all. Manchester United have not been able to sell Paul Pogba for the right price and, therefore, will not be able to afford a move for the Lazio man.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s rumoured move for Donny van de Beek suggests that Paul Pogba won’t be leaving United this summer and that Los Blancos are also not interested in Milinkovic-Savic. With just a financially restricted Juventus and PSG remaining, it now looks as though Sergej will stay with Lazio for at least another six months to a year.
