This morning, Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed the reports from yesterday: Milan Badelj is set to return to Fiorentina after just one season in Rome with Lazio. An agreement has been found between both clubs: the transfer will be a €1m loan, with an option to buy set at €4 million.
Badelj is said to soon be leaving the Lazio preseason camp in Marienfeld to join his former club. It was the Croatian himself who pushed hard to return to Florence, rejecting any other destination that was not his former team.
Over the past few days, the midfiedler spoke a lot with manager Simone Inzaghi, and despite the the coach’s best efforts to try and keep him – by explaining the importance of his role in the upcoming Lazio project – the house call was too strong.
