Speaking to Lazio Style Channel, Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi spoke ahead of the new Serie A season; which kicks off towards the end of the month.
“After today we closed our retreat, we wanted to finish well, we knew that they wanted to make a good impression but we managed to put in place what was asked by the coach in Marienfeld. We played a good game defensively even though then, in the final stages, a bit of fatigue came out physiologically. In preparation there is never any friendly, even with lower level opponents.
“We are happy but we need to improve because the championship starts in two weeks. The games are complicated for us but also for our opponents. We know our limits but we want to start Serie A at our best. The atmosphere of Marassi is always special, the derby is not even to be presented. We played four games in a week, which is a lot extra on top of the training but all this helps to improve our condition. Now two days of rest, well-deserved.”
