After several reports in recent days suggesting that Mamadou Tounkara was close to leaving Lazio, the official confirmations have come today. Tounkara has joined Viterbese on a permanent basis, the club confirming it on their website with the following statement:
“AS Viterbese Castrense announces that it has reached an agreement with SS Lazio for the permanent transfer of the player Mamadou Tounkara. The player has signed a two-year contract with the Gialloblu company. Tounkara, striker with Spanish passport born in ’96, grew up in the youth of Barcelona and moved to SS Lazio in 2012. Always with Lazio he played in the Primavera where he made 39 appearances and scored 18 goals and also made his debut in Serie A. In the 2015/2016 season he played in Serie B with the Crotone and Salernitana jerseys with which he played a total of 10 matches and scored a goal, and finally the player also wore the Flamurtari jerseys (first division of the Albanian championship),of the FC Schaffhausen (Swiss Challenge League) and of the MFK Zemplín Michalovce (Slovak Superliga).”
