Igli Tare, Lazio’s Sporting Director, spoke yesterday before the press conference for the Biancocelesti’s latest defensive signing, 23-year-old Slovakian defender Denis Vavro. The player was purchased from Danish side FC Copenhagen for €10m earlier this summer. Here are his words:
“Today we start with the presentation of Denis Vavro, who has been in the eyes of Lazio for two or three years, since the time of Zilina, in Slovakia. Then he was followed on his way to Denmark. It’s a targeted purchase, his arrival was expected, I’m glad he’s now part of our family. We’re talking about a player with important characteristics, I don’t like to make comparisons with his countrymen. He’s going to make an important growth path, I think that next year will be a point of reference for the team.
“He immediately joined the group and tried to understand the way we play, then I want to add one thing, you have to be patient about the judgments, I read about them quickly in the first few weeks. There is no one in the world who can do it after two weeks. We need patience and we need to give the players the right time to integrate.”
Tomorrow there will be the presentations for Manuel Lazzari and Andrè Anderson, with their press conference starting at 17:00 CEST.
