At the press conference yesterday evening ahead of today’s match between Lazio and CFR Cluj in the Europa League, Angolan defender Bastos spoke alongside head coach Simone Inzaghi.
Speaking about his current place in the squad, the defender said: “I always try to give my best. It is very good to have a lot of competition. It pushes you to work harder. Every day I try to improve myself to have an opportunity in the team.” This comes amid rumours in the press over the past few weeks that Lazio turned down approaches from Premier League clubs Leicester City and Watford for the defender in the summer.
Speaking on the match against Cluj, Bastos said: “Tomorrow will be a difficult match against a team with confidence, but Lazio is ready to play a good game. We hope to win.”
