It has been discussed for a while but now it would appear only the official confirmations await as Lazio agree to sign a new deal for Ecuadorian forward Felipe Caicedo. According to Radiosei‘s press review, Caicedo has agreed a deal to keep him in Biancocelesti until 2022, earning 2 million euros a year plus bonuses.
Prior to the new deal, Caicedo earned 1.8 million euros per season and therefore is earning slightly more in comparison. Reportedly, Caicedo had been informed of the decision to renew his deal at the end of the summer, presumably when the club chose not to pursue an alternate vice-Immobile.
This decision is likely to divide opinion amongst Lazio fans. Many believe that Caicedo is still not truly the best option for the vice-Immobile role but it is also true that the Ecuadorian has proved pivotal in several moments over the past couple of seasons.
