Marco Parolo: Lazio make first contacts for contract renewal

Marco Parolo, Source- Ofificial S.S.Lazio

Since July of 2014, Marco Parolo has dressed in the Biancocelesti colours. From a starter to more of a substitute – as of late – there is no doubt that the Italian veteran is one of the most respected players at the club. He is a serious professional, trains at his maximum, and is one of those who manager Simone Inzaghi can rely on. However, with a contract expiring in 2020, Lazio must start to reflect on the future of their vice captain. Parolo is now 34 and will be 35 when 30.06.2020 arrives; he currently earns €1.4 million per season and it would be difficult to see an increase if they are to extend his contract. In this regard, both parties are thinking an additional year would be satisfactory – he is happy in Rome. As it stands, he has made over 200 appearances for Lazio and stands at 169 in the Serie A. Parolo is not the only player Lazio need to talk with: they are trying to manage the transition of the old guard. Senad Lulic’s contract expires on 30.06.2020 and Stefan Radu has a contract expiring on 30.06.2021; no talks have initiated with either the 33-year-old Bosnian or 32-year-old Romanian. The future is approaching fast; whatever happens in the end will be decided mutually and on good terms.
