Lazio defender Luiz Felipe, currently on international duty with the Brazil Under 23 squad, will be available again to coach Simone Inzaghi next week. A new contract for the 22-year-old is close, according to Italian media outlet Radiosei.
Luiz Felipe’s current contract with the Biancocelesti expires in 2022, but the club is keen to offer the defender an extension of two years to 2024 with a substantial wage increase, finalizing what was agreed between the two parties in the summer.
In his last contract renewal in 2018, the 22-year-old Brazilian had a salary increase from €200 thousand to €500 thousand, with his salary set to increase even further with this contract. Reportedly he will earn €1 million net per season plus bonuses related to both his performance and the team’s achievements in the season.
The Biancocelesti are keen to reward the defender, who they feel has only grown stronger over the last season. Both club president Claudio Lotito and Simone Inzaghi are keen to protect their best players on the transfer market, with other important renewals being made with stars like Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Joaquin Correa and Felipe Caicedo.
