Lazio vs Torino: Post Match Review

Lazio continued their impressive form in Serie A by handing Torino a thrashing: the Biancocelesti defeated the Granata 4-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio vs Torino: First Half

Felipe Caicedo had the first clear cut chance of the night, the Ecuadorian was played in on goal by Luis Alberto. His shot drifted agonizingly past the left-hand post. In the 23rd minute Danilo Cataldi on free-kick duty attempted to strike a set-piece, his effort did not trouble Torino’s goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.

Francesco Acerbi scored a candidate for goal of the season in the 25th minute; the Italian scored an absolute screamer from 35-yards after receiving a pass from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. 1-0.

Lazio extended their lead in the 33rd minute. Leading goalscorer Ciro Immobile was played in on goal from an early pass by Luis Alberto. The Lazio hitman raced to the edge of the Torino box before drilling the ball past Sirigu at his near post. 2-0.

Lazio vs Torino: Second Half

Torino came out firing in the second half, Soualiho Meite testing Thomas Strakosha whose effort fell to Andrea Belotti; his effort hitting the crossbar. In the 68th minute, Caicedo was brought down by Nicolas Nkoulou in the box, the Cameroonian receiving his second booking of the night. Immobile stepped up and slotted the penalty away, taking his goal tally for Lazio to ninety-nine. 3-0.

In the final minute of the game, Luis Alberto delivered an in-swinging corner which was flicked on by Belotti, the final touch by the Italian was enough to take the ball past his own keeper. 4-0.

Lazio vs Torino: Man of the Match

King Ciro claims the Man of the Match award for his performance against Torino. The Italian leads the race for the Capocannoniere with his 12 goals, four more than his closest rival Luis Muriel. Immobile proved once again that if he is presented with a chance it is likely to lead to one outcome. Three shots against Torino, two goals.
