Riza Durmisi has joined Ligue 1 side OGC Nice on loan for the remainder of the 2019/20 season. After failing to impress in his first season in Rome, the Danish left wing-back has essentially been excluded from Lazio’s squad list; he has fallen in the pecking order with Simone Inzaghi opting for Senad Lulic, Jony, and Jordan Lukaku ahead of him. For this reason, a move away from the Capital was only a matter of time for the 25-year-old as he attempts to find form by obtaining regular playing time. Below, the official statement from the French club.
“To prepare for the second half of the season, a new face will be joining in the next few days. Arriving from Rome, this is left wing-back Riza Durmisi (25 years old) who successfully passed his medicals prior to any commitment on Thursday, December 5th, 2019. In agreement with Lazio, he will arrive on a six-month loan with an option to buy included in the agreement. Therefore, he is now at the disposal of Patrick Vieira, ready to play for the red and black colours starting in January.”
