Brescia vs Lazio: Prediction

This match takes place after Lazio won 3-1 in Saudi Arabia against Juventus to win the Supercoppa Italiana. It was a deserved result for the Biancocelesti who were the stronger side for most of the match. Luis Alberto continues to have a strong season as the midfielder scored the opening goal. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic did a nice job inside the box to find Alberto and the Spaniard made no mistake to find the back of the net. While the midfielder continues to impress for Lazio, it was Senad Lulic who won the match for the Biancocelesti. The wing-back scored in the 71st minute to help Lazio win their second Supercoppa Italiana under manager Simone Inzaghi and twice against Juventus. Lazio has been in good form as of late as they have won eight straight and are unbeaten in their last eight matches in Serie A. Brescia’s last victory against Lazio dates back to May 2004, when they won 2-1.

As for the Biancazzurri, they started their season winning one of their first three matches. The team’s troubles have yet to change since then as they have three wins, nine losses, and two draws. Due to the inconsistency and poor form of the squad this season, Brescia decided to relieve Eugenio Corini of his duties and replace him with Fabio Grosso. In the short time he was with the club, Grosso went on to lose all three matches he coached while conceding ten goals and scoring none. After his three matches, Brescia decided to make another managerial change, this time bringing back Corini to replace Grosso. Since he has returned to the team, Corini has won two, drawn one and lost one. In their recent match against Parma, Mario Balotelli opened the scoring for Brescia in the second half. Although taking the lead late in the match, Parma scored a late goal to tie the match 1-1; Alberto Grassi scored late into injury time of the second half to avoid losing to Brescia and preserve the tie.

Lazio is six points behind Inter and Juventus, sitting in third place, while Brescia are currently in the relegation zone as they sit one point behind Sampdoria and Udinese at 15 points for 16th spot in the standings.

Prediction: Brescia 0-2 Lazio
