This season marks the 20th anniversary of Lazio’s second Scudetto win in club history. Since their last title win, Lazio has not made too many Scudetto challenges and UEFA Champions League qualification has been nil since 2007. However, this season may be different. Serie A fans are debating which team will win the Scudetto. Fans can use a promo code for Serie A to get a bet bonus before wagering on the games in Italy.

Lazio on a Roll

Simone Inzaghi’s team is playing great football and are unbeaten in 10 of their last 12 matches in all competitions. Lazio’s two losses in those 12 matches came in the UEFA Europa League, a competition in which they were eliminated at the group stage. Supporters can visit this bookmaker to get a Serie A bonus code before betting on Lazio.

Serie A, on the other hand, has been a different story as Lazio are 12 matches unbeaten. To find their last loss in the Italian top flight, you must go back to 25 September when the Biancocelesti lost 1-0 at the San Siro to Inter. Since the end of October, Lazio has gone on a nine-match winning streak in Serie A making them the most in-form team in Italy.

Can Lazio Catch the League Leaders?

Six points separate Lazio in third place and Inter and Juventus. The reigning Coppa Italia winners have the opportunity to win Serie A this season. But is it a realistic target for Simeone’s team?

Lazio must keep the pressure on the top two. It will be a tough task despite their excellent form in Serie A. This weekend will see a tricky contest between Lazio and Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico. Although Napoli is not as strong as in years past, they are still one of the big clubs of calcio. If Lazio wants to continue their pursuit of a third Scudetto, they will need to win and continue winning.

However, Lazio does not just need to win matches. They also need Inter and Juventus to drop points. The league leaders, who are knotted at 40 points apiece, have done just that in recent weeks. Juventus suffered their first loss of the league season with Lazio winning 3-1 in early December.

A Game in Hand

The good news for Lazio is they have a game in hand. While Inter and Juventus have played 18 matches already, Lazio has played 17. Theoretically, Lazio could pull within three points if they can turn that game in hand into a victory.

Of course, Lazio’s main target is to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League group stage for the first time since 2007. The 1999-00 season was the last time Lazio reached the knockout stage of the Champions League. Lazio could receive a whooping €15 million for just reaching the group stage. In the end, simply reaching the Champions League and adding revenue could provide Simone and Lazio with the chance to challenge for the Scudetto next season.

Lazio is just six points off of the Scudetto. If they continue to put the pressure on Inter and Juventus, we will see one of the most exciting Scudetto races in years. Let us hope they can continue to win while their rivals drop points.
