Lazio Set to Restructure Women’s Football at Club

Mauro Bianchessi, head of youth at Lazio, has spoken to the club’s official radio station about the situation regarding both youth and women’s football at the club. Lazio Women currently sit 2nd in the female Serie B, losing just once in 13 games so far this season.

Speaking about the future of the women’s and youth sector, Bianchessi said:

“Next year there will be a restructuring of Lazio Women and the youth sector. We have a medium-high intake level. With the Under 15, Under 17 and Primavera teams there is a selection process: we will now pay more attention to the girls through a scouting process. The credit goes to all the female staff coordinators, they work with great passion.”

Speaking about Lazio Women’s clash on Sunday with league leaders Napoli, Bianchessi said:

“Napoli are a giant, they have had an excellent market. We are a little ant, we started recently. It is not vital to come first, because second has the same value. We must keep up this form and our lead.”
