Simone Inzaghi Hails ‘Organised’ Lazio Against ‘Excellent’ Hellas Verona

Lazio were held to a 0-0 draw by Hellas Verona at the Stadio Olimpico this evening as two of Serie A’s best performing teams met in Rome. A tough game saw both sides have chances but the woodwork denied Lazio’s Luis Alberto twice which has left Biancocelesti fans disheartened. Speaking to DAZN after the game, Lazio head coach Simone Inzaghi said:

“I congratulated the team, we were very good and organised a great match against an excellent team. We had 27 shots on goal and we deserved to win. We didn’t have luck in our favour. I substituted Parolo on because sometimes you risk losing these games. But for the performance, I congratulated the guys because they were very good. It was a game of great sacrifice. We regret the result but I think our fans enjoyed the match. I have to be honest, my impression was that we had a great game. I can’t ask the team for more, in fact I thanked everyone at the end of the game. We had tried but failed. Correa was missing tonight and we all know what he represents for our team.”

“Now in four days we should organise another equally important game against Parma. I’m sorry I didn’t give us a win, but football is like this: the performance was there and the boys gave a lot in this game.”

Inzaghi also spoke to Lazio Style Channel, where he commented on the Curva Nord’s choreography at the start of the match:

“I noticed it, beautiful. We are used to admiring what the boys of the Curva put together.”

Lazio play Parma next in the Serie A away from home.
