Liverpool’s Adam Lallana Targeted by Lazio

According to Italian Sports Journalist Nicolò Schira, both Lazio and Leicester City are interested in securing the services of Liverpool’s Adam Lallana.

Turning 32 this year, the attacking midfielder’s contract at Anfield expires on 30.06.2020; despite having an option for a further year, the Reds do not seem keen on extending his stay at the club. As a result, the England international will be available on a free transfer come this summer – something that seems like a bargain for a player of his characteristics.

Lallana joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2014 for a fee of €31 million. However, he failed to live up to his potential due to sustaining a multitude of injuries; he has missed 67 matches in all competitions since joining Liverpool to date. Although injury prone, Lallana is good at running into channels and supplying a solid final ball. This is something that Lazio currently relies heavily on Luis Alberto for; if he is to get injured, creativity is lost in the midfield.

As the club have had great success in signing Liverpool players in recent years – both Luis Alberto and Lucas Leiva signed for the Biancocelesti for a small fee and have since turned into key figures for Simone Inzaghi in Rome – it comes as no surprise that Igli Tare is once again hunting in the North West of England.
