Luis Alberto: Lazio Working on Contract Extension

According to Italian Sports Journalist Nicolò Schira, Lazio is working on extending Luis Alberto’s contract. As it stands, the offer that has been proposed by the Biancocelesti is until 2025; this also involves an adjustment to his salary, in which the 27-year-old would be making €3 million + bonuses per year. These bonuses include €100 thousand per goal and €130 thousand per assist.

This 2019/20 season, the midfielder has made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing 14 assists. He currently leads the Serie A in the assist department and has had a tremendous influence on the success Simone Inzaghi’s side has had to date; Lazio is currently on a 21 match unbeaten streak.

The Laziali reported that Lazio was working on a contract extension for Luis Alberto back in October of 2019. This was as a result of the Magician’s current deal expiring in 2022 and the fact that he currently makes just €1.8 million + bonuses per year; the least out of all the big stars in the team.

In addition, it is important to note that meetings were held between management and the footballer back in July. Despite the mutual desire between the player, his agent, and the club to continue playing in Rome at the Stadio Olimpico, an agreement is said to have been made between the parties (in the summer) to re-initiate talks regarding his contract after the 2019/20 season comes to a conclusion.
