According to Radiosei, Paris Saint-Germain is closely following Adam Marusic. As Thomas Meunier’s contract expires this summer with the Ligue 1 giants – and a contract renewal looking unlikely as Juventus and Bayern Munich expressing interest – the club needs a replacement for the right flank and Sporting Director Leonardo has decided that the Biancocelesti man is a potential option.
This past season did not go as planned for the Montenegro international. Manuel Lazzari was signed from SPAL in the summer of 2019 following inadequate and inconsistent performances from Adam throughout the 2018/19 season. Therefore, the player started the season as a ‘second’ to the Italian. But after some shaky play from Manuel, he started to play every other game.
This, however, came to an end on November 4th, when he sustained a thigh muscle strain which kept him out for 36 days; he was sidelined on two other occasions after the incident, firstly on January 7th (with muscular problems for 23 days) and on February 26th (with muscular problems for 12 days). Once returning, Marusic finally returned to the rhythm he showed during his first season at Lazio. But even this was cut short due to the suspension of the Serie A due to COVID-19.
Both Marusic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic are assisted by Mateja Kezman, and they also have something else in common: Leonardo’s interest to bring them to Paris. However, Lazio does not seem willing to deprive themselves of either player, especially with UEFA Champions League football looking likely for next season.
