Remembering Lazio’s Mirko Fersini

On April 12th, 2012, Lazio’s Mirko Fersini passed away following a road accident with a car whilst on his Vespa. Almost 2000 people attended the funeral; as a result, Lazio’s training grounds – where the Lazio Primavera team plays their home games – was later named in October 2012 after the young Italian. Coached and trained by Simone Inzaghi (when he was the manager of the Youth Lazio sides) his memory continues to live on eight years later; the club has released an official statement regarding the player.
