Lazio Eyes Simone Scuffet as Future Back-Up Goalkeeper

According to Italian news outlet Serie B News, Simone Scuffet is in the crosshairs of Lazio Sporting Director Igli Tare. Thinking about the future of the club, the Italian 23-year-old is owned by Udinese but currently on loan at Spezia. He has a contract expiring with the Bianconeri in the summer of 2022 but he also has the potential to be purchased by Spezia due to the option-to-buy option inserted into the current loan agreement. Silvio Proto is turning 37 next year and has a contract expiring in 2021; Guido Guerrieri has not impressed enough to be given the number two position. As a result, Lazio needs to invest in a successor for the back-up of Thomas Strakosha and Scuffet could potentially be the man. Torino has also enquired about his services; they are thinking of him as a successor to Salvatore Sirigu.
