Simone Inzaghi has truly established himself at the heart of Lazio. Despite inconsistencies over the past few years, his impressive performances this season have really classified him as one of the best young managers in the world. According to what has been reported by Italian news outlet Il Messaggero, however, a number of top European clubs are interested in the Italian coach and could be looking to bring him in once the season eventually concludes.
The reports suggest that Manchester United, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are the clubs interested in Inzaghi. Furthermore, the Italian’s current deal with Lazio expires in just over a year’s time, in the summer of 2021. However, Lazio president Claudio Lotito is currently attempting to rectify this and provide the head coach with an extension as a reward for his impressive feats so far in the 2019/20 season.
Whilst interest from big clubs is sure to please Inzaghi, there is optimism amongst the Biancocelesti that he will remain, once again, in charge of the club. Just last summer, reports suggested that both AC Milan and Juventus were seriously interested in signing Inzaghi as a coach but, eventually, he remained in the Italian capital and has led Lazio to an impressive season. However, an impressive season will only have made interested parties keener on signing the Italian and Lotito will have to sufficiently arm Inzaghi with a bumper contract to keep him at the club.
