Lazio appear to remain in the market for a new striker this summer, to provide support for the pre-existing ranks of the Biancocelesti attack. According to what has been reported by Lazio fan radio station Radiosei, one of the potential targets for Lazio this summer is Russian forward Artem Dzyuba.
The 32-year-old striker stands tall at just under two metres tall and is well known for both his aerial presence and finishing ability. Currently, Dzyuba plays for Zenit St. Petersburg but has a contract expiring with the Russian club at the end of this season. Currently, Dzyuba is the top scorer in the Russian Premier League, with 13 goals and 10 assists in 21 games this season.
In January, Dzyuba was targeted by Lazio’s Serie A rivals, Inter and Milan, in addition to Tottenham Hotspur scouting him as a potential alternative to an injury-ridden Harry Kane. Dzyuba’s agent is Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes, whom Lazio have a close working relationship with and therefore adding fuel to the speculative fire that a move to Rome could be on the cards for the giant Russian forward.
Dzyuba is the captain of the Russian international team; he has 42 appearances and 24 goals for his country.
