Cedric Gondo: Lazio Ready to Sell Ivorian Forward

Lazio has a plethora of young profiles to assess over the summer and determine who, out of the youth crop, to keep and who to part ways with. Ivorian center-forward Diomandè Yann Cedric Gondo is currently on loan with the Biancocelesti’s feeder club, Salernitana, but his future as an official player of Lazio is hazy.

According to what has been reported by Salernitana news outlet Tutto Salernitana, Gondo has not impressed Lazio Sporting Director Igli Tare with his performances in Salerno. In the 2019/20 season so far, Gondo has scored just twice and assisted a further six in 17 Serie B games, and at 23-years-old, it is unlikely that Gondo will develop much further beyond his current level.

Salernitana is reportedly considering a permanent move for Gondo but there is also interest in the Ivorian forward from both Avellino and Cittadella. Gondo is likely to be one of many younger prospects whom the Biancocelesti decide to let go this summer, with a large number of players having been sent out on loan this season.

Over his career, he has played for a plethora of clubs before joining Lazio (and consequently Salernitana). This includes Fiorentina, Ternana, Asteras Tripoli, Teramo, and Rieti.
