A year ago, serious question marks were being raised over the future of Lazio defender Patric. The Spanish full-back was a natural right-back but failed to truly deliver since joining the Biancocelesti. That was, however, up until Simone Inzaghi decided to relaunch the Spaniard as a right-sided center-back this season, with the Spaniard impressing far more in his new role.

Patric has impressed so much that Lazio fan radio station Radiosei is reporting that Lazio is preparing to offer him a new contract. The defender signed his last deal in 2018 and his current contract expires in 2022. Now, the club is ready to secure his long-term future at the club, giving Simone Inzaghi a ready-made alternative for the aging likes of Romanian defender Stefan Radu.

The player joined Lazio in 2015 from Barcelona, having played no games for the Catalan giants. He made his debut in August of 2015, coming on in the second half of a 4-0 defeat to Chievo Verona.
