According to Lazio radio station Radiosei, if Adam Marušić leaves the Biancocelesti this summer, Noussair Mazraoui could be signed as his replacement.
Over the course of March and April 2020, several reports have been published that confirm Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in the 27-year-old Montenegrin international. This is the outcome of Thomas Meunier’s contract with the Ligue 1 giants expiring in the summer of 2020; as a contract renewal is not on the table, the club needs a successor for the right flank, and Sporting Director Leonardo has decided that the Marušić is a potential option.
Les Parisiens are reportedly weighing up an offer of €15-25 million, and if this is accurate, Claudio Lotito is likely to accept. This is because he was purchased from KV Oostende in 2016 for just €5.5 million, and therefore, he would secure more than an adequate profit on him. While nothing is certain yet, Igli Tare has initiated his search, closely monitoring targets that could fill the player’s shoes if he is indeed to depart; one of these profiles is Ajax’s Mazraoui.
Born in 1997, the 22-year-old has already secured 76 senior appearances for the Dutch side to date. Starting his career at Ajax, and continuously moving up from the ranks, the player is able to play as a wing-back on either flank and also as a midfielder. Versatile, his contract with the Dutch club will expire in the summer of 2022 which is why the upcoming summer transfer market could be decisive for his future.
