As exclusively collected by Lazio news outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, the Biancocelesti are said to have enquired about the availability of Wolverhampton’s Leander Dendoncker. This is the result of Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes who has an established relationship with both the English and Italian clubs.
Born in 1995, Dendoncker is a versatile physical and technical footballer. Although the Belgian international plays primarily as a central midfielder, he can also be deployed as a central defender in a back three formation.
Although frequent contacts have not occurred between Lazio and Wolverhampton yet, it likely will not have to, due to Mendes and his ability to make deals happen; not only has he dealt with either team in the past, but he has also negotiated a deal between the two clubs – for Portuguese youngsters Pedro Neto and Bruno Jordão – in the summer of 2019.
Lazio Sporting Director Igli Tare is closely monitoring the situation; it is said that the Wolves are desiring a fee of at least €20 million to allow the player to leave this summer as a result of his performances this season.
Over the 2019/20 campaign, Dendoncker has made 46 appearances and scored four goals in all competitions (Premier League, UEFA Europa League, and FA Cup), clearly indicating the quality he possesses and the trust that Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo has in the player.
