Lazio Rank Eighteenth for Under-21 Player Usage

With data from the CIES football observatory, Sky Sport have compiled a ranking of all twenty Serie A clubs, based on how many times players aged 21 or under have featured for each team so far in the 2019/20 campaign.

Of all 20 teams, Lazio have ranked 18th, with just 0.4% of players of under 21 having featured. These players are Bobby Adekanye and Andre Anderson, with the former having turned 21 this year and the latter set to turn 21 in September.

Only two Serie A sides rank lower than Lazio, Udinese and Lecce, with 0.3% and 0.1% use of U21 players respectively. Atalanta rank 16th with 0.9%, Napoli 15th with 2.8%, Inter 13th with 5.3%, Juventus 12th with 7.9%, Roma 5th with 11.1%, Milan 2nd with 15.5% and Genoa top with 19.2%.

In terms of leagues, only Spain ranks lower in Europe’s big-five leagues, with La Liga averaging a 7% usage of U21 players and Serie A just ahead on 7.7%. Meanwhile, the Premier League has an average of 8.5% as the 74th position in the world, the Bundesliga ranks 66th with 9.8% and Ligue 1 is the highest-ranking of the big leagues, in 36th place with 15%.
