According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Lazio have joined the Napoli in the race to sign Hellas Verona wing-back Davide Faraoni. Not only have they contacted the player’s agent, but also the Gialloblu club, who value the player at €6.5 million.
Faraoni, who is now 28-years-old, spent almost his entire youth career playing for the Biancocelesti’s Primavera sides (1998-2010). However, when his contract at the club expired, he joined Inter on a free transfer; this was short-lived as just a year later, he was sold to Udinese.
Since then, the defender has played for several other clubs – including Watford, Perugia, Novara, and Crotone – but failed to leave an impact and prove his worth until being loaned, and consequently signed by Hellas Verona, in the summer of 2019.
This 2019/20 Serie A season, Faraoni has played in 25 matches for the Gialloblu, scoring three goals and providing three assists. A vital component of the squad, due to his impressive performances, he has attracted interest from several Serie A sides; in January 2020, he confirmed himself that Lazio, Roma, and Inter had all asked about his availability.
