According to what has been reported by Lazio news website La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio are interested in signing FC Nordsjaelland youngster Mohammed Kudus. The versatile Ghanian midfielder is being tracked by a number of top teams, with the Biancocelesti competing amongst the likes of Everton, Genk and Borussia Dortmund for his signature.
Kudus is extremely versatile and adaptable: a natural central midfielder who can play as a mezzala or even as a striker. Due to his natural ability and skill, some press outlets have tipped him to follow in the footsteps of Ghanian legend Michael Essien, possessing many similar traits and abilities to his countryman.
TransferMarkt currently value the midfielder at just under €3 million and at just 19-years-old, he has plenty of potential to progress. In the 2019/20 season, Kudus has scored nine goals in 19 Superligaen games for Nordsjaelland. Furthermore, Kudus made his debut for the Ghanian national team last year, scoring in a 2-0 victory over South Africa in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
With a relatively low transfer fee, Lazio could definitely be in the market to pursue Kudus further. The biancocelesti are in need of versatile midfielders and attackers who can serve in a back-up role for the time being, allowing the club’s stars to shine without having anyone grow frustrated at a lack of football.
Nordsjaelland have become somewhat of a hub for developing young talent, with the likes of Celta Vigo‘s Emre Mor, former Everton man Bryan Oviedo and former Aston Villa player Jores Okore all spending time in the ranks of the Danish club. Kudus, however, is tipped to be a future great and if Lazio do not increase the intensity of their pursuit, they may face missing out and seeing the midfielder’s value skyrocket over the past few years.
