Gabriele Bellodi: Lazio Following Milan Youngster

According to Lazio news outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, the Biancocelesti are closely following Milan’s 19-year-old central defender Gabriele Bellodi.

Bellodi has spent his entire career thus far with the Rossoneri. Debuting for their U17 side at the age of 15 (2015/16 season) he was quickly promoted to their Primavera (U19) side at the age of 16 for the 2016/17 season.

After two years of playing with the Milan U19 side, he was sent on loan to Olbia Calcio 1905 (Serie C) for the 2018/19 season and Crotone (Serie B) for the 2019/20 season to acquire first-team playing time. While making 30 appearances for the Serie C side, he has made just two appearances for the Serie B side this season.

With a contract expiring on 30.06.2020, a contract renewal with the Rossoneri has not been agreed upon. As a result, Lazio Sporting Director Igli Tare is said to be trying to convince the player of a move to the Biancocelesti.

If Bellodi signs, he will be directly sent to Serie B side Salernitana right away for a season or two, similar to so many other youngsters who have been acquired by Lazio in the past. This is so Tare and Claudio Lotito can evaluate him and track his progress closely.

Gabriele is the son of Mirko Bellodi, a former goalkeeper who played for the likes of MantovaUS Pistoiese 1921, and Reggio Audace FC, amongst others.
