Eduardo Cornacini: “Lazio Are Interested in Adryelson”

As announced by Eduardo Cornacini, the agent of Adryelson, Lazio are indeed interested in signing the Sport Club do Recife defender.

Currently 22-years of age, the Brazilian center-back has spent his entire career playing in his native country. He made his debut for Sport Recife’s senior team in October 2018 (aged 20), following a brief six-month loan at Palmeiras for the first half of the 2017/18 season.

Starting the final 11 matches of the 2017/18 season with Sport Recife in Campeonato Série A, despite being relegated, he impressed management enough to become a regular starter for the side in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B for the 2018/19 season. He made 30 appearances and the club finished second to obtain promotion back to the first division for the 2019/20 season.

With a contract expiring in the winter of 2021, Adryelson has become a target ahead of the summer transfer window. In addition to Lazio, the interested parties include Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense, Sport Club Internacional, Club Athletico Paranaense, and Atalanta, and Lazio; however, it is important to note that the Biancocelesti have been following the player for over a year. Below, Cornacini’s statement regarding Lazio’s interest in the player.

“Since Adryelson is young and has already made his debut and played with the Brazilian youth national teams, we know that he is on the radar of many clubs. Lazio has shown interest and, soon, an official offer may also arrive.”

As it stands, the player himself knows that there is a lot of talk about his future and the club has announced that they have not received any official offers, but if he is to leave, it would have to be for a figure of around €10 million. However, since Sport Recife are currently in a delicate financial situation, Igli Tare may be able to convince them to agree upon a lower price.
