According to Italian Sports Journalist Nicolò Schira, Lazio are working on extending Francesco Acerbi’s contract.
As it stands, Acerbi’s current deal expires in 2023 and he makes €1.5 million + bonuses per year. The new offer that has been proposed by the Biancocelesti is until 2024, which also involves an adjustment to his salary, in which the 32-year-old would be making €2.5 million + bonuses per year.
This new deal is to prevent any interested parties in making a move for the experienced Italian, as Serie A side Inter and several Premier League clubs have enquired about his availability in recent months.
This 2019/20 season, the central defender has made 33 appearances in all competitions; he has not only proven himself as a top player, but also a true leader, playing in the center of the three defenders in Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 formation.
