Sport Club do Recife defender Adryelson Shawann Lima Silva, simply referred to as Adryelson, has been linked to Lazio since May 2020. Today, the player himself spoke about the club and the possibility of joining the Biancocelesti.
“Lazio is a massive club. I know their story and I admire them a lot. Although there is a lot of talk surrounding my future, I’ll let my agents take care of it. But of course, it would be an honour to play for Lazio.”
Currently 22-years of age, the Brazilian center-back has spent his entire career playing in his native country. He made his debut for Sport Recife’s senior team in October 2018 (aged 20), following a brief six-month loan at Palmeiras for the first half of the 2017/18 season; starting the final 11 matches of the 2017/18 season with Sport Recife in Campeonato Série A, despite being relegated, he impressed management enough to become a regular starter for the side in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B for the 2018/19 season. He made 30 appearances and the club finished second to obtain promotion back to the first division for the 2019/20 season.
“I try to stay away from any sort of rumours. I like to work, train and do my best, because I know this is the best way to become a top player. My future, as I said, I will leave in the hands of my agents. They know what’s best for me and my goals as a player.”
With a contract expiring in the winter of 2021, Adryelson has become a target ahead of the summer transfer window. In addition to Lazio, the interested parties include Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense, Sport Club Internacional, Club Athletico Paranaense, and Atalanta, and Lazio; however, it is important to note that the Biancocelesti have been following the player for over a year.
As it stands, the player himself knows that there is a lot of talk about his future and the club has announced that they have not received any official offers, but if he is to leave, it would have to be for a figure of around €10 million.
