Felipe Caicedo: Al-Shabab FC Interested in Lazio Striker

According to Italian Sports Journalist Nicolò Schira, Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab FC are interested in signing Lazio’s Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo.

The 31-year-old has been an integral part of the Biancocelesti side this 2019/20 season, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in all competitions.

A helping hand without a doubt, as Lazio looks set to make the next edition of the UEFA Champions League, it seems probable that the club will try to sign another attacker this summer to help them compete on several fronts. If this occurs, Caicedo’s playing time would diminish; the knowledge of this could be enough to sway his decision in favour of moving on from Rome.

While numerous suitors have reportedly tried to sign the striker over the course of the past two years, the Ecuadorian recently signed a contract extension with the club in October 2019 until 2022. Therefore, unless a respectable offer is made by the Saudi Arabian side, it seems unlikely that Lazio or the player will accept, even if his playing time decreases.
