According to Serbian sports daily newspaper Sportski Žurnal, Red Star Belgrade have enquired about the possibility of signing Lazio defender Bastos.
Signed by the Biancocelesti in the summer of 2016 from Russian Premier League side FC Rostov, the Angolan international has made 88 total appearances for the club; 62 have made in Serie A, 16 have been made in the UEFA Europa League, and 10 have been made in the Coppa Italia.
While the 29-year-old has had a fair amount of praise throughout his time in Rome, he has definitely had an equal amount of criticism, primarily due to his lack of consistency. As a result, with a contract expiring in the summer of 2021, Lazio are said to be looking to move on from the player this summer; selling him to Serbian SuperLiga side Red Star Belgrade – who are currently managed by former Lazio player Dejan Stanković – could be a possibility, especially as the player would become a starter and would be able to play in the UEFA Champions League.
