In Matchday 35 of the 2019/20 Serie A, Lazio defeated Cagliari 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio vs Cagliari

Despite the Biancocelesti having the better chances, five more corners, and 67% ball possession, after the first 45 minutes of play, the Rossoblu led 1-0 thanks to a Giovanni Simeone goal that came right at the end of the half.

However, just two minutes into the second half (in the 47′ to be exact), the Biancocelesti levelled off of a brilliant Sergej Milinkovic-Savic volley.

Then, in the 60′, Lazio took the lead off of a Ciro Immobile left-footed strike.

The play started when João Pedro lost his footing just inside the Biancocelesti’s half after receiving a pass from Charalampos Lykogiannis.

Adam Marusic picked up the loose ball and played Patric, who then found Luis Alberto in open space. Taking just three touches forward, he looked up to see Immobile making a run between Paolo Faragò and Sebastian Walukiewicz.

The Spaniard then did what he does best, making a beautifully threaded pass by to the Italian striker, who scored his 31st goal of the 2019/20 Serie A season; this was enough to seal the three points and clinch a top-four spot in the league.
