Prediction

This match takes place after Lazio won 5-1 at the Marcantonio Bentegodi against Hellas Verona. It was a deserved result for the Biancocelesti, who were the stronger side for most of the match. Immobile continues to have a strong season as the striker scored his 32nd, 33rd and 34th goal. The forward scored his second hat-trick this season and has a chance of breaking Gonzalo Higuain’s record of 36 goals with two matches remaining. Additionally, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Joaquin Correa each scored in Lazio’s win. The Biancocelesti are starting to have players return from injury which has made Inzaghi’s job of fielding a lineup an easier task. Lazio has been in good form as of late as they have won two straight matches and are aiming to finish in a top-three spot. Brescia’s last victory against Lazio dates back to May 2004, when they won 2-1.

As for the Biancazzurri, they are headed back to Serie B. The team’s troubles have stemmed throughout the year and there are two matches remaining until they close their Serie A season. Due to the inconsistency and poor form of the squad this season, Brescia decided to relieve Eugenio Corini earlier in the year of his duties and replace him with Fabio Grosso. In the short time that he was with the club, Grosso went on to lose all three matches he coached while conceding ten goals and scoring none. After his three matches, Brescia decided to make another managerial change, this time bringing back Corini to replace Grosso. The return of Corini wasn’t long as he was replaced by Lopez after nine matches. It has been a disastrous season for Brescia who has made countless changes in the managerial role, which hasn’t worked out well. In their recent match against Parma, Matteo Darmian opened the scoring for Parma in the second half. Although they took the lead late in the match, Brescia scored shortly afterwards to tie the match 1-1; Dejan Kulusevski scored late in the second half to avoid losing to Brescia and preserve the win.

Lazio is three points behind Atalanta, sitting in third place, while Brescia is currently in nineteenth place and has been relegated to Serie B.

Prediction: Lazio 4-0 Brescia
