Things are said to be changing regarding Lazio’s goalkeeping situation for the 2020/21 season.
Although Thomas Strakosha will remain as the starter, veteran Silvio Proto (who is currently the second-choice goalkeeper) is destined to either retire or make a return to Belgium, and Guido Guerrieri (who is currently the third-choice goalkeeper) looks likely to be loaned out in search of first-team minutes.
As a result, according to Il Messaggero, some names are mentioned as the new vice-Strakosha; free agent Emiliano Viviano, Sassuolo’s Andrea Consigli and Cittadella’s Alberto Paleari. While Viviano is likely the goalkeeper with the least amount of risk, Consigli’s ability with his feet is of makes him of interest to Manager Simone Inzaghi, and the former Milan youth product Paleari is said to be Club Manager Angelo Peruzzi’s preferred choice.
With regards to the third-choice goalkeeper, young goalkeeper Marius Adamonis looks likely to remain in Rome this year to fill the role.
