According to Radiosei, Lazio have enquired about the availability of Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli. This is due to the fact that current second-choice goalkeeper Silvio Proto is destined to (retire or) leave the Biancocelesti this summer, and third-choice goalkeeper Guido Guerrieri is set to be loaned out to acquire first-team playing time ahead of the 2020/21 season.
As it stands, Lazio are waiting for a response from the Neroverdi. Although the goalkeeper’s current contract expires in 2022, at the age of 33, it is possible that at the goalkeeper’s request, a deal can be found.
No matter the case, Simone Inzaghi currently looks as if he is without a back-up goalkeeper for the 2020/21 season. Therefore, the club must sign someone this summer; they are on the search to find a goalkeeper that will not only fill the gap in the squad but also create healthy competition for current first-choice goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.
