Giacomo Bonaventura: Lazio Contact Free Agent

According to Radiosei, Lazio have contacted Mino Raiola – the Agent of Giacomo Bonaventura – to discuss the possibility of signing the Italian central midfielder on a free transfer. The 30-year-old’s contract with AC Milan expires on 31.08.2020 and it has already been confirmed that he will not be extending his stay with the Rossoneri.

As it stands, several Serie A sides are interested in securing Bonaventura. In addition to the Biancocelesti, Atalanta, Roma, Torino, Hellas Verona, Benevento, and Crotone are said to have expressed interest. Therefore, while convincing him to join will primarily come down to his wages, it is yet to be determined if Lazio will be able to – and want to – ultimately offer the player a deal that will satisfy him; especially considering he would not be a starter in the squad.

Bonaventura joined Milan from Italian Serie A side Atalanta (for ~€5.3 million) in 2014. Since then, he has made 184 appearances in all competitions (Serie A, Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana, UEFA Europa League), scoring 35 goals and providing 30 assists; in his final season with the Rossoneri (2019/20 season), he made 32 appearances, scored four goals, and provided six assists.
