Cristiano Lombardi: Bologna Interested in Lazio Midfielder

According to Italian Football Reporter Alfredo Pedullà of Sport Italia, Bologna are interested in signing Lazio midfielder Cristiano Lombardi, who spent the 2019/20 season on loan with Serie B side Salernitana. Manager Siniša Mihajlović is a fan of the player, and as a result, Pedullà further claims that the Rossoblu are ready to make an offer for the 24-year-old (whose contract expires in the summer of 2022).

Born in 1996, the Italian has been owned by the Biancocelesti for his whole career. However, despite being a homegrown player (who was deemed to have the potential to become a starter in the first team), Lombardi has made just 19 total appearances with Lazio; all of which came in the 2016/17 season.

Not given the time or space to prove himself, he has been – and continues to be – a player who is loaned out; he has played for the likes of Trapani, US Anconitana, Benevento, Venezia FC, and most recently, Salernitana.

This past year, Lombardi made 19 total appearances with the Granata, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
