According to Italian Football Reporter Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Lazio are set to sign Sport-Club Paderborn 07 e.V. midfielder Abdelhamid Sabiri. The 23-year-old is expected to arrive in Rome on Friday, September 25, 2020; despite having a contract with the German club until 30.06.2021, he will join the Biancocelest on a free transfer. The only catch to this agreement is that Paderborn will receive a minimal percentage on a potential future sale.
Sabiri joined the German club in 2019 after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Huddersfield Town. However, following the club’s relegation to the 2. Bundesliga, he has been on the search to move on. While Portuguese Liga NOS side SC Braga were also said to be following the player, Sporting Director Igli Tare managed to convince him to sign for Lazio.
