According to Corriere dello Sport, Lazio are interested in signing Shanghai Shenhua attacker Stephan El Shaarawy on loan until February 2021. The 27-year-old Italian wants to return to Europe (preferably Serie A) to prove his worth and make Italy’s EURO squad; as a result, the Biancocelesti are said to have invited him to their training facility (Formello Sports Centre) to further discuss a potential move.
El Shaarawy joined Shanghai Shenhua from Lazio’s rivals Roma in 2019. Since then, he has made just 19 appearances in all competitions (Chinese Super League, Chinese FA Cup), managing to score four goals and provide three assists.
