According to Diário Record, Lazio defender Wallace is set to sign with Turkish Süper Lig side Yeni Malatyaspor after the Biancocelesti mutually rescinded his contract (with the help of his Agent, Jorge Mendes).
The 25-year-old Brazilian will sign a two-year deal with his new club; although the player will leave Lazio for free, it is important to note that they have managed to insert a clause into his sale that will allow them to receive 50% of his future sale price.
Wallace’s sale will not only allow the Biancocelesti to save money (with regards to salaries), but also allow them to resolve problems with the liquidity index, making way for the likes of Mohamed Fares and Wesley Hoedt.
The Brazilian defender joined Lazio in the summer of 2016 from SC Braga. However, after failing to impress management, he was sent on loan with an option to buy to Portuguese Liga NOS side SC Braga for the 2019/20 season.
Only making 16 appearances in all competitions, due to inconsistent performances, Braga did not exercise the option to redeem him at the end of the season and he returned to Rome.
With no place in Simone Inzaghi’s squad, it was only a matter of time before he found a new destination.
