Lazio have signed Southampton FC player Wesley Hoedt.
The 26-year-old Dutch central defender will join the Biancocelesti on loan (for the 2020/21 season) with an option to buy (set at €5 million).
Since joining the Saints for a fee of €16 million in 2017 (from Lazio), Hoedt has failed to adapt, impress, and ultimately live up to expectations with the English Premier League side.
After just one and a half seasons with the club, he was sent out on loan to Spanish La Liga side Celta de Vigo for the second half of the 2018/19 season (10 appearances); he also spent the entire 2019/20 season on loan with Jupiler Pro League side Royal Antwerp where he made 25 appearances in all competitions.
