A report from Italian media outlet Lalaziosiamonoi.it has examined Lazio’s season so far and how they’ve turned their fortunes around.

The report details how coach Simone Inzaghi has been instrumental in turning around the season after a disappointing start to the campaign.

The Biancocelesti had only achieved one win in the first four games, coming against Cagliari in the opening game of the season.

Lazio went into their Champions League opening match against Borussia Dortmund fresh off a painful 3-0 loss to Sampdoria, but managed to dazzle in Rome as they came out 3-1 winners.

Since then, the Roman side have won twice and drawn once, seemingly turning their form around. Inzaghi is to thank, knowing the squad well after being in the job for five years now.

The Italian coach’s simple half time message to the squad in their comeback win over Torino on the weekend, “Let’s go back out and beat Torino” (as reported by Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei), was enough to galvanize the squad and eventually secure the three points.

Inzaghi is also aware that a win over Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg tomorrow would put the team in a good position to qualify to the next round of the competition.
