Lazio’s Strakosha, Leiva & Immobile Will Not Feature Against Zenit Tomorrow

Lazio’s Thomas Strakosha, Lucas Leiva and Ciro Immobile will not be joining the team to face Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg in the Champions League tomorrow, according to a report from Italian media outlet Lalaziosiamonoi.it earlier today.

The report details how the trio did not pass UEFA’s Covid-19 tests that were taken yesterday, despite the fact that they faced Torino in the 4-3 comeback win on the weekend, only two days ago.

Coach Simone Inzaghi was not allowed to bring the three players with him to Russia, although the trio still took part in training with the squad this morning.

The next Covid tests will be taken on Friday, with the usual Serie A parameters, meaning that the three players may still be available for this weekend’s clash with Juventus.

The 30-year-old Immobile, who has already scored four times for the Biancocelesti this season, was also forced to miss last week’s European clash with Club Brugge.
