Lazio Striker Ciro Immobile to Undergo Decisive Covid-19 Test Tomorrow

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile will undergo a Covid-19 test tomorrow to discover whether or not he’ll be able to face Juventus on the weekend, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei earlier today.

The report details how the 30-year-old Italian forward, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2025, tested positive for the virus earlier this week and was forced to miss yesterday’s Champions League clash against Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.

The player tested negative less than an hour after UEFA’s test was carried out, with the difference being the European organisation’s stricter testing parameters.

Lazio are hoping that Immobile will be able to feature against reigning champions Juventus on the weekend, and the results of the tomorrow’s test will be announced on Saturday.

Immobile did feature against Torino last weekend, where he scored in the thrilling 4-3 comeback, but was forced to miss last week’s Champions League match against Club Brugge for the same test inconsistency.
